WCC Interim Psychiatry Fee Schedule Memorandum - March 4, 2013

MEMORANDUM NO. 2013-03

TO: Commissioners, District Administrators, Advisory Board, Legal Advisory Panel, Medical Advisory Panel, Medical Practitioners, Self-Insureds, Insurance Carriers, Attorneys, and Unions
FROM: John A. Mastropietro, Chairman
DATE: March 4, 2013
RE: Interim Psychiatry fee schedule
effective January 1, 2013

Due to significant changes to the codes in the Psychiatry section of the American Medical Association's manual on Current Procedural Technology (effective January 1, 2013) the Connecticut Worker's Compensation Commission will issue an interim fee schedule for psychotherapy services. Since psychiatrists and others in the field are obligated to report their services using these new codes, this interim fee schedule will be effective for dates of service beginning January 1, 2013 and will remain effective until our complete 2013 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule is available in July.

If you purchased the 2011 or 2012 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule from OptumInsight you will receive a notice and an electronic copy of the interim fee schedule free of charge. All others may contact Optum at 800-464-3649 or, beginning March 11, 2013, download a copy from http://www.optumcoding.com/productupdates/.
