RE: Interim Psychiatry fee schedule effective January 1, 2013

Due to significant changes to the codes in the Psychiatry section of the American Medical Association's manual on Current Procedural Technology (effective January 1, 2013) the Connecticut Worker's Compensation Commission will issue an interim fee schedule for psychotherapy services. Since psychiatrists and others in the field are obligated to report their services using these new codes, this interim fee schedule will be effective for dates of service beginning January 1, 2013 and will remain effective until our complete 2013 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule is available in July.

If you purchased the 2011 or 2012 Official Connecticut Practitioner Fee Schedule from OptumInsight you will receive a notice and an electronic copy of the interim fee schedule free of charge. RE: REVISED Workers' Compensation Benefit Rate Tables: January 1, 2013-September 30, 2013

Revised tables for determining the workers' compensation benefits for Connecticut workers injured from January 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013 are now available.

The newly-revised benefit rate tables have been updated to reflect a recent change in federal law requiring increased withholding of Social Security taxes.

Chairman Issues Modifications to Weekly Benefit Tables Memorandum

RE: Modifications to Weekly Benefit Tables

Effective January 1, 2013 the social security withholding tax on payroll earnings was increased by 2 percent. Because of this, the compensation rates in the current Weekly Benefit Tables will not be accurate for dates of injury on or after January 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013. Compensation rates are being correctly calculated by our district offices. If you have any questions about this memorandum, please communicate them to the Statistical Division at the Chairman's Office.

2013 CRB Panel Announced

Pursuant to Section 31-280b, Chairman John A. Mastropietro has appointed Commissioners Peter C. Mlynarczyk and Charles F. Senich to sit as panel members on appeals before the Compensation Review Board for the calendar year beginning January 1, 2013.

Mileage Reimbursement Rate Rises

The mileage reimbursement rate for all travel expenses incurred on or after January 1, 2013 is now 56.5 cents per mile. This rate change applies to all claimants, regardless of injury date, and coincides with the federal mileage reimbursement rate pursuant to Section 31-312(a) of the Workers' Compensation Act.
